At 080 Barcelona Fashion Week, Guillermina Baeza’s spring/summer 2027 collection, “Vesper”, suspended time inside the private, golden hour of the boudoir.

Creative Director Belen Larruy turned the runway into an intimate sanctuary, capturing that electric, quiet threshold between getting dressed and letting go.

Translating iconic archival codes into high-fashion resortwear, Vesper blurs the boundary where swimwear ends and couture lingerie begins.

Translucent sheer tulle and trompe l’oeil lace veil the skin with delicate mystery, while rich velvet, metallic lurex netting, and fluid satin lycra contrast against crisp matte finishes.

Reinterpreted heritage florals, graphic pin-stripes, and cheeky polka dots dance across ruffles and draped silhouettes, evoking the effortless sensuality of a shared backstage dressing room.

Could they live up to the Kenzo successes of the past? It looks likely, thanks to their stellar Spring 2012 collection at Paris Fashion Week. Besides the fact that their Opening Ceremony friends added to the fashion celeb-infused event (Jason Schwartzmen with music and Chloe Sevigny closed the show), we were wondering if we were going to see an Opening Ceremony imitation. Luckily, the designers did focus Kenzo Takada’s Japanese culture mixed with their French fashion knowledge and a sense of American sportswear, along with knits, taffeta, and color blocking. It was bright and a bit over-the-top but we think its energy will resonate with buyers from all over.
