Perhaps Mercosur should mirror the EU and demand the ability to sanction the EU whenever they stimulate political unrest in the world, for example by supporting Isreal without conditions, and creating unrest in the Middle East as a consequence. If the EU can sanction on behalf of the environment then Mercosur can sanction on behalf of political stability. Let's see how they like that.

The clause of equality in public contracts is imperialist as fuck. And threats of sanctions due to environment distruction is also unacceptable. EU needs Brazil's agriculture imports more than ever. It's an imperialist unequal trade deal as is.

Screw the EU though. We refuse to become subject to their asymmetric bad faith garbage that will only be abused just so the French can send us literal containers of human poop FOR A THIRD TIME with no consequences.
If they really want the deal to go through it will have to happen between parties with equal standing, or they can just eat it.

For those concerned about the quality of food imported to the EU:
Belgium is currently exporting huge quantities of pesticides that are banned within the European Union to the rest of the world, RTBF and Le Vif report.
According to a recent study by 6 NGOs (SOS Faim, Broederlijk Delen, FIAN, Iles de Paix, Viva Salud and Entraide et Fraternité), between 2013 and 2020 Belgium exported 50,000 tonnes of pesticides prohibited for agricultural use in Europe to more than 70 countries: an average of 6,250 tonnes each year.
