Is Sweden’s No-Lockdown Policy Working? – TLDR News
The Coronavirus is one of the biggest crises in modern political history, and governments and institutions are scrambling to respond. Most countries opted to lockdown, limiting citizens’ contact to try and prevent spread but Sweden didn’t. Despite some minor changes a lot of Sweden is running as usual, which has people around the world interested – does the no-lockdown strategy work?

This is not the mortality rate. It is the rate of death of the tested people.
0.03% of total population is not that deathly, when you keep in mind that this are mostly people that will die soon anyway.

Suppression?? What a negative word to use. Very western philosophy where freedom/liberty is over-valued and idolised as their new "god".
Another thing, Sweden has a tiny population (10 million) and dispersed throughout a large landmast. Cold weather making travelling less comfortable unlike in Asia (cf Hubei city, Wuhan alone 11 million; Singapore 6 million, half foreigners).
Not thorough enough research and consultation in a globalised world, relaying perhaps on 1/2 "western/westernised" experts. I may be wrong, so I apologise in advance. I'm Malaysian.

It's my opinion this video was made for engagement rather that information. If it was made for information maybe it would have started with the fact presented in the conclusion. Maybe it would have also put Sweden's population into perspective as 8mil is not really a lot of people. Maybe it would have actually presented accounts of what people there have done differently, regardless of government advice? Did people start working from home? Did people stop going out? Also tourism was dead there I'm February, maybe this is worth keeping in mind? The 1.2% infection rate, is that low compared to what? An arbitrary 100%? What is a low infection rate normally? There's no perspective on that.
The biggest issue is that you present a number based conclusion, but then go on to ask people what they think. It's as if you run a math class, you show that 2+2=4, but at the very end you ask for people's opinions on whether 2+2=4 or 2+2=banana.
I was subscribed to the main channel, but this video shows me the direction and focus of the team has changed. Will unsubscribe now.

Wasn't there a study that stated that after testing people for antibodies a significant lower number than expected showed immunity? At least outside of Stockholm? The figures you mentioned seem to be not the ones for total Swedish cizizens but for those in Stockholm, released about the time the video came out.
For Göteborg only 3.7% was given as result after testing.
And these figures already had a correction factor as antibody tests require time after an infection. 20% was an axtrapolation based on different factors and only 'valid' for Stockholm. The tests showed that upon the 1000 tested people only 7.3% had antibodies at the time of testing at the end of April.
And with the raw data back when the video was released I would have had to say, no, the Swedish way wasn't all that successful. And even if the 20% were true for the whole country, I would not be sure if my answer would have been different.
But now September is coming, and to be honest, I haven't checked newer data and studies regarding Sweden. Maybe they showed that the immunity really was as high as calculated/extrapolated. Maybe they showed the opposite.
The high mortality would still be an all too high price, imo, and there's no guarantee that there won't be significant second wave.
More than that, especially upon those who did not take the virus serious, the 'Swedish Way' caused an outcry why other nations did not chose that way, too. Not taking in account, that most parts of Sweden aren't heavily populated which already creates a certain 'social distancing', at least outside the big cities.
Even if it woul have worked better for the Swedes, this doesn't mean it would have been possible in other countries.
And looking at the figures now shows one trend clearly. Those countries who payed the least respect to the virus or even denied it and its periloussness are the ones with the worst figures and the most harm done. Although they would have had some time to react after the virus reach Europe and showed its Power in Italy. And in this includes the UK.

I'll tell you why they went with this strat. Swedens law enforcement/government has no power over the people. They would not give 2 shits if the prime minister said "WE ON A LOCKDOWN BOIS". They would laugh and go out and party. You're welcome.
@equinoxeparabellum6776
February 16, 2024 at 3:12 pm
We now know that immunity for this only lasts up to 3 months with many getting sick for a second time. Sweden make a big mistake by assuming there was immunity to covid 19. They got this wrong and many died as a result of this experiment on its civilians. It's paramount to manslaughter. The Swedish government need to be held accountable but I bet they blame their Scientists. The same mistake was also made in the UK when a government minister announced herd immunity but was quickly removed from his position once Scientists pointed out that to achieve herd immunity you needed to establish if there is such a thing and even if there was many would not only die but would be disabled for life due to this new disease.

People bang on about 'socialist' Sweden but it's definitely a liberal capitalist economy with less socialism than say The US, with its huge police force and communo-fascist military arm, with the largest civil service in the world bar China. The UK is populated by too many demanding pussies on all wings. Elements of the Left and Right were against the lockdown, but the majority were like pathetic puffs and stupid little spoilt girlz.. The UK deserves to disintegrate now The Pussy-Puffs have destroyed the economy. Pussy-puffs should be wiped out of Britain. All they do is fuck and demand government do something… The more government does NOTHING, the better… If there's one thing these progressive, human-life-extenders need is a MASSIVE CULL of them, the sick and the elderly.
