Hey TLDR EU viewers! We are TLDR's newest channel (our first video came out less than 2 hours ago) but I think you should give us a sub anyway! If you're interested in this kind of video, about the intersection of politics, power, culture and business then I really think you'd enjoy TLDR Business… I am biased though…

They’re not welcome in most places, particularly the EU. Nobody wants facebook, and small businesses are fed up with Meta using them as justification for Meta knowingly violating laws. Big tobacco is the really the right comparison.

Europe will not be worse off if Meta leaves.

As a European, I couldn't care less about Meta, I don't use their social networks because they're toxic as hell. In fact, it's a good thing. It will create even more jobs in the IT industry and we will finally have the opportunity to develop and grow a social network with more ethical algorithms.

European citicezns should be allowed to vote on this in some sort of public referendum. They would all voted this crap out of EU! I'm European and use Insta and facebook only sporadically…and am totally ok with it being shut down in Europe rather than giving creep Zuckerberg the right to our private data to be used and exploited as he wishes and I'm glad EU regulators are respecting our privacy laws! F them! there will always be other networks and way to connect, what Meta is doing in US is criminal!!!! I know businesses that rely on their online presence will suffer more but they will adapt with time.

These companies provide no social benefit and object to paying taxes on their massive profits. Their leaving Europe would be a positive step.

All you people think we need Facebook or Meta, need to have their head examined !!! Does anyone remember a time, when we did not have the internet ?? We were better off ! Is this world so full of morons' that don't realize we have been played with, by other beings, who want to trick us into worshiping them as Gods, they wish to trick us into being their slaves, willingly !! That way is legal by their standards !!!!

  20. @iamgreyhorse

    February 22, 2024 at 4:52 pm

If Facebook and Meta want to leave your country ! Then count your blessings and let them leave !!! I bet they don't want to leave ! They will probably fight to be able to stay !!! It is them that need us, we don't need them !!

  21. @iamgreyhorse

    February 22, 2024 at 4:52 pm

If you are lucky you'll if FB would leave your country !!!!!! The world would be better off without FB or Meta ! We don't need a company that sells our data to anyone who will pay for it !

The population of EU is about 500,000,000. Zuckerberg will not easily give up the billions generated there. Corporate GREED at work. Thanks for this post.

  26. @frosty_mentos1238

    February 22, 2024 at 4:52 pm

It could be devastating for a lot of companies and people whom communicated their whole lives with those apps, as much as it's annoying to say cause I really hate those social platforms. Hoping they'll have to oblige to the rules than being scummy about it.

  27. @Jonathan-kraai

    February 22, 2024 at 4:52 pm

FB will do everything to stay as profitable as possible. so they will not withdraw (even if i would applause that) but bend law and such as much as possible to sta in EU. even if that means some servers in EU

  28. @clownclownolulu7897

Typical EU bureaucracy, this stupidity causes massive unemployment which is why the USA and the UK have 50% less unemployment than the EU

  31. @sir_christmas_leopold_duckson
