Russia with 146 million people has only a similar sized GDP to Spain which has 48 million people. Russia's leaders and people need finally to come to terms with the fact that their country is now a struggling medium sized power not only far weaker than the USA and China but also with a much smaller GDP than Germany or France or the UK or Italy. The crippling corruption and consequent paralysis of Russian society from Putin downwards has rendered its much vaunted military into a shambles.

OK, Got it ! NATO will be expanded to included Finland, Sweden and Ukraine.. and together they will attack Russia and defeat them. Is it what we should follow from this?
NATO who could not even beat Taliban in Afghanistan after 10+ years of war and loss of 4000+ soldiers will defeat the Nuclear Power Russia. Russian Nuclear weapons will be neutralized by the new members Finland, Sweden and above all Zelenskiyy's UKraine!
Also in the event of a Nuclear war NATO will attack Russia with more nuclear than Russia can send here . Again simple logic 100 Nuclear against 50 will win the Battle. I am enlightened by this new knowledge. So Simple and straightforward!!

Don’t worry Finland and Sweden won’t join to the NATO, unless they stop backing terrorist groups around the Turkey. Not everyone in Turkey approve Erdogan in so many topics and even though he is gonna lose the next elections, but there is one certain point which everyone is agreeing at the moment that is “Sweden and Finland should stop supporting PKK terrorist organization.” . There is no debate about this, not even most far left party complaining about this decision of Erdogan. So, yeah, sorry Swedish and Finnish people, your government should stop giving guns to the terrorist organizations first.

  10. @Khantlerpartesar

    February 10, 2024 at 12:15 pm

Macron is not really wrong with NATO being 'brain dead', there's really just isn't any point in the organization whose main goal is protection (and counteroffensive). And with no conflict that could unite its foundation, it will eventually wither in the future.

But Putin basically said "well, I'm gonna give you a reason to exist longer I supposed."

NATO, is an offensive and hostile military alliance, primarily England and America that have destroyed many countries – Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Yemen, etc.,.. now it's Ukraine, and next is Finland and Sweden. It's time for the world to wake up before these war mongers destroy the world.

Finland and Sweden are being encouraged by warmonger strategists or counter strategists to join NATO with political and military means that will eventually create instability and nuclear war in Europe and the downfalls of allies and opponents!!!
Joining NATO would turn Finland and Sweden into war zones one day or other and that would lead to WW III a massive setback to Europe and other parts of the world.
There are only loosers in a nuke war, far more atrocious than that suffered by Japanese in WWII.
The new world powers may be in ASIA.

I read this title as "How the country Ukraine changed NATO."
This is probably different for people, who live far away from Ukraine, but for Europeans Ukraine is a place with wonderful people and it is not just a war or conflict.
I get why you can not call it "the war". I suggest "Russia's attack".

Relations between the EU and Turkey have had its ups and downs. Lately though, they’re both eyeing a strategic reset, with European leaders seeing Turkey as an essential energy, economic and defence partner while turning a blind eye to Erdoğan’s authoritarian framework.
