EU’s Charles Michel recently urged expansion by 2030, potentially increasing members from 27 to 36. Growing interest in EU membership due to Russia’s actions raises questions about progress and future additions.

Is there anyone who wants Russian vassal states such as Serbia in the EU? That would give Putin enormous influence over EU decision-making and policy.
I think that Hungary and Slovakia is more than enough.
@YamadaSena
February 13, 2024 at 1:08 am
European Union will most likely collapse, if Hungary leave its good for Serbia because when Russia take Ukraine Serbia would be connected with Russia via land by Hungary and Ukraine.

The EU reforms got through the Parliament and are going to Conference this year (2024). There's a bunch of good reforms in this package – but the biggest? Dropping the power of VETO for Qualified Majority Voting. Basically, this reforms the EU's reform process itself. It turbo-charges their effectiveness and will see them well on the way to a Federation, an effective COUNTRY called Europe. I can't wait to see this happen!

its funny how countries complain about the long wait but still hasnt reformed to meet the EU standards -.- if you did the work then it probably would make the EU member states more likely to get you in. You need to be on EU standard levels to join not join to get to the standard levels

@Scrungge
February 13, 2024 at 1:08 am
First they need to need to amend the EU founding treaty (TFEU) to possibly kick out members with like a strongly qualified majority (like 85%). Because the Hungary Poland situation is just going to happen again and worsen with enlargement.

1. The EU SHOULD have expanded, but it was already very, very late – it is the EU's FAULT that Ukraine is now at war for the tenth year! And for 8 years, the EU helped Russia in this war…
2. Immediately after the start of the war in Ukraine in 2014, the EU SHOULD have announced that Ukraine would become a member of the EU in "six months". This would immediately end the war and save tens of thousands of lives and tens of billions of dollars spent on war instead of improving lives.
3. There is very, very little hope that the EU will be saved – after Ukraine loses the war against Moscow, Russia will immediately attack the Baltic countries, Romania and Bulgaria… And ONLY Ukraine can save the EU NOW. Even the USA will not save!
