I francesi distruggono e annichiliscono ogni differenza culturale.

France really love corsica , for so much reason and will never let us go !
Imagine that we are less than 400000 habitants and have 2/3 important french military bases in Corsica !
This is a Mediterranean strategic point for france 😢
Today corsican people is minority in his own land … it will be really dificult to survive when most of the people who are living in Corsica actually, just don't care about speaking our language or learning about our culture and history …
    It's really sad …

The French want autonomy in Canada to "save their culture & language" and want AMENDMENTS to the Canadian constitution to "recognize them as a separate nation" but won't give the same rights for Corsican, Catalan, Breton, Flemish and other minority people in France. Hypocrites.

Autonomy for what? The claims of secessionists / nationalists are usually baseless. Within the EU governments are merely organizational units, while the regions can live out their culture als politics as they seem fit.

It's funny how France used to support separatism in Azerbaijan (by arming Armenia, which backed Nagorno-Karabakh Separatists Regime), and now, they have national separatist movements of their own. Can't wair Corsicans to proclaim independence in next 30 years! 😂

  18. @mahf_mahf

    February 16, 2024 at 2:45 am

Let's be brutally honest. If there's a nation-wide referendum about Corsica's independance, there is a (moderate) chance that the Continental French vote YES, but there is 100% chances that the Corsicans vote NO. It's basic maths. Corsica gets much more than any other region. This is never debated. Fine by me. But, placed under the scrutiny of a political campaign, the statistics would not resonate well among people very much attached to "égalité".
Autonomy is a different topic: keeping the benefits of being French and dropping the flaws is a bit like the UK demanding more to the EU and contributing less. Unfair.
When it comes to culture, language, education, bilinguism must be promoted. It's long overdue ! Same for Britanny or Alsace and others. The country is highly centralized; the French culture is strong enough; none of these regional and historical cultures cause any threat to the Nation. They should be recognized and promoted !

The same could be said of the overseas regions of France: Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Réunion and Mayotte. Given that they have the same legal status as those in Metropolitan France, there are those who live in these regions that point out that it makes no sense for the distant (literally and metaphorically) Paris government to have the same regulations that Metropolitan France has put on them as well. The example of Britain's Overseas Territories shows that they can be run with a local administration, dealing more effectively with issues that affect them, is more effective than a central government often thousands of miles away (Réunion for example is roughly 5,800 miles from Metropolitan France, it and Mayotte aren't even in the same hemisphere as the other regions)

Pretty convenient that the big bad convenient jihadi bogeyman gets his hands on the snoring separatist isn't it? That's classic France…..

And it's classic Western media to keep this secret but go on about the Middle East as if it's the most violent area ever whilst ignoring so much conflict especially this one NOW. And making out that Russia is the only country that brought war to mainland Europe in the modern era
