I live and work in Italy and not a day passes by without questioning whether I should stay or leave. I feel like I'm working just to get by paying rent and utilities. What's worse is that government policies do not really favor "side hustles"… Can't even imagine having a kid through all this fiscal pressure.

  2. @Mimas2115

    February 19, 2024 at 12:59 pm

I think a big problem in Italy isn't just that people aren't having kids, but that those few kids that are born leave as soon as they finish school because there's nothing for them here. Univeristies in Italy are mediocre at best, and the job market is terrible. This way, even if Italy fixes the low birth rate, the labor problem wont be fxed because everyone will just leave after finishing High School.

    Italy should lower taxes.

  4. @Doppiovetro

    Cost of life like London
    Wages like Bucarest
    Taxes like Copenaghen
    Parlament corruption like Russia
Mass illegal immigration like US (except that is form islamic countries…..yuck!)

Why should I give birth to another human being to live in this hell?

  5. @UlT989

    February 19, 2024 at 12:59 pm

Girl education is an agenda to get cheap labour and achieve 2x productivity at same cost for company benifit. Girl education causing labour cost go down

To counter this kind of problem hindu texts🕉️🕉️ has one solution🕉️
In Hinduism, one will get solvation only if its dead body is burnt by its son child only. It can make pressure on parents to reproduce a male child but due to 50-50 chances of having male or female. They would get females also and reproduce till get a male child

  7. @HodajuciParadoks

    February 19, 2024 at 12:59 pm

You need 3 children to have small rise in this. Most people even here have one child, that means it is in minus. You need to have 2 kids in one household to maintain …number of people.

  8. @wibukaminolepofficial

    February 19, 2024 at 12:59 pm

I suggest that the Italian government bring in around 1 million single young men from Indonesia and you will see that one couple will have 4 – 9 children. Many children have lots of fortune.

Lol, everyone writes about feminism, but almost nobody points out the much worse and scarier reason. The mass genocide happening since 2021. Of course there would be lots of comments about it, but Youtube deletes them.

  10. @exit-bag

    February 19, 2024 at 12:59 pm

and why do they need more people? less people means higher wages, good for everybody, lets be real Italy will never be a superpower or anything close to it, it doesn't needs that many people anyways

  11. @pontikischristos3927

    February 19, 2024 at 12:59 pm

This is why Cicciolina was a much better politician than Meloni. She has motivated people to reproduce.

While I fully understand your premise, I believe that it is unreasonably simplistic to fault one generation for getting older and therefore becoming a "burden." I'm not conversant with Italy's national financial policy history; however, I am somewhat familiar with America's. Which begs me to point out that Lindon Baines Johnson effectively pulled off the largest "bait and switch" scam in recorded history when he moved the Social Security (SS) system off a contributory method and onto an item in the General Fund. This allowed him to steal billions and billions of dollars from the SSA accounts and used it to fund the War on Poverty and disguise the cost of the Vietnam war. This is precisely why Baby Boomers, who contributed the most to SS now are expecting that same system to provide the funds it was intended . Current Congressmen, both parties and both houses, like to bemoan the SSA line item in the budget as something they cannot control, but they could refund what was "stolen" and return the system to a contributory system unlike the cookie jar they have come to believe it is. You cannot have it both ways; fess up or suck it up, choose one.

If society does not need me, will not provide me with a job, will not train me or help me to develop and grow, then, evidently, it does not need my offspring. It clearly has better options to choose from.

    February 19, 2024 at 12:59 pm

Either way dont import hoardes of migrants to artificially prop up your economy(that only feeds the rich)

  17. @jamesbarrett9653

    February 19, 2024 at 12:59 pm

Encourage your own nationals to have children with the money you are wasting on supporting immigrants. It is ultimately a much better deal. Those immigrants are going to be a burden for a very long time and they have come from very unproductive societies and are not the solution.

The major expenditure is health care for the elderly, socialized medicine is crippling EU nations, start making privately funded health care the norm and an aging population won't be such a drag on the economy.

  25. @baa32

    February 19, 2024 at 12:59 pm

Nationalize the real estate market and control housing costs
Nationalize higher education and control education costs
    Criminalize disinformation and misinformation
Expand and mandate teenage and young adult therapy and socialization

Then maybe people will want to take on the burden of bringing a whole other human being into the world and caring for it for the rest of their lives

  26. @albertngene7402

Everyone brings up the problem with pensioners when discussing the birth rate . No -one acknowledges the greater problem , capitalism doesn't work in reverse . Systemic deflation means the end of our reality .

Italian women are the problem! I went to Italy in 1991 to find old fashion Italian woman like my Italian mother that wanted to be a wife and mother that will cook and care of the home. The woman were more hostile and independent than American women then! I couldnt believe it. My mother couldnt believe when I told her how Italian women didnt want to get married then. Feminism has destroyed potential families and children, not to mention abortion! I had spoken to Italian man who had a girlfriend in Poland. He told me that there is so much confusion with Italian women because of feminism. He told me that Italian women didnt want to marry. I met so many handsome young Italian men that wanted to marry an American woman they would treat them better than Italian woman. I experience for my self the hostility of Italian women to me because I was an American with Italian ancestry. I am concerned that Italian race will disappear in Italy.😢

  44. @ludvikalexander8618

    February 19, 2024 at 12:59 pm

Has anyone considered that we just dont think the world is worth bring children into?

Think of the level of crisis' and various problems in 30-40 years time….

On our current trend, if I had children I wouldnt blame them for hating me in 20 years time when life is simply not worth it.

  45. @deanfirnatine7814

    February 19, 2024 at 12:59 pm

You want a serious demographic crisis then look at China. By the way the biggest driver in every culture of low birth rate is urbanization, you want people to have kids throw them into a nice small town with a house and a yard etc.

  46. @luigig6256

    February 19, 2024 at 12:59 pm
