Note: A few people have questioned the decision not to include Ireland in the discussion. In the original script Ireland was featured heavily, however, considering we're planning on releasing a number of videos on the country & the border in the weeks ahead we thought it would be better to keep this video concise and talk about Ireland elsewhere. If you are really keen to see our content on the Irish/Northern Irish border you're best off heading over to the TLDR UK channel where we're most likely to post content on the topic (https://youtube.com/tldrnews) – Jack

    Simple solution to complex problem
Do no deal, let the UK burn. Kick out Hungary and Poland. Be as a EU with 1 less cry baby and 2 less dicatorships. With all 3 gone the budget should mostly even out, and we can continue to fix this pile of dirt we call the EU.

The EU countries invested alot into Britain. Their fear is to losing that investment. It is not about that the EU is built on UK. Life will go on and former investments from EU into UK will find its way into eastern and southern EU countries in future.

As an European (German) this whole story is so sad.
It again shows how strong(dangerous) populism can be if you let it reign free. Without the campaign of Nigel Farage, which spread a lot of lies and false claims (e.g. the British pay like 350mil pounds to the EU every week), the close win at the referendum and therefor the Brexit would't have happened. Now a lot of people (especially in the UK!) will suffer from that.
And we in the EU have lost a great democratic ally with "good people and good values", while we have problematic "far-right-countries" like Poland and Hungary still beneath us.

  13. @Robin-Smith

    February 20, 2024 at 11:56 pm

How many people who support the EU receive a subsidy from the EU (welfare) for their farm or similar? Those business are hardly an authentic business. Isn't this kind of ignorance and selfishness at the bottom of the EU question? We all need a protectionist father figure. And no slave ever questions his master. Its curious how much harm this causes our children. Then we educate them to do the same. And so it goes…

  14. @TheDentrassi

    February 20, 2024 at 11:56 pm

    Lol.
Are they resigning to a no deal outcome?

There's 2 fucking weeks left with a big annual holiday right in the middle and an on-going pandemic. Yeah. I dont think they're gonna have any last minute changes of heart.

Brits been lied to … and you are one of them trying to explain they lies … sad ! Kick Johnson out give back control to the people by another referendum and see what happen …. for sure 70% will vote to stay as they had enough of the tories bullshit and lies …

  20. @ronrichardson3103

    February 20, 2024 at 11:56 pm

The EU is not interested in a deal . 4.5 years of messing about tells you all they want to do is give the UK a good kicking .thats always been the target. Mabey in a few years will they get round to it .

  21. @keithharding8645

    February 20, 2024 at 11:56 pm

  22. @forlorndream1400

    February 20, 2024 at 11:56 pm

Wow, those contingency measures sound very reasonable.
Oh wait a minute, you forgot to mention that we'd have to accept all new EU laws, regulations and the rulings of a foreign and political court. You didn't mention that the loss of the EU land bridge through the UK would be very costly to the EU. And fisheries? We give up our natural resources but what do we get in return? Nothing.
We get no single market access but the EU still trundles its trucks across the UK to/from the RoI at no extra cost. They can still easily export to their largest buyers and hoover clean our waters.
It seems all the contingency measures are designed to benefit the EU at our expense.
I wish your video was a little more truthful and a little less misleading. A lie by omission is still a lie.

Brexit is one of the most boring topic ever. EU should have just made 2 non negotiable options: 1 'If u agree then…, 2 'If you don't agree then…' and get over with it in a year.

  27. @matthewsmith2787

    February 20, 2024 at 11:56 pm

I think it’s a mistake UK leaving the EU, and I voted Brexit, it sounded great at the time, but they failed to tell us the small print. I think we are going to have worse living standards, most things will be more expensive and I don’t see immigration being any lower

  29. @boboboborific

    February 20, 2024 at 11:56 pm

So frustrated that this is happening. Even more frustrated that a 2nd referendum after a deal was actually negotiated was seen as anti democratic. The stupidity of our people is beyond question now… Lots of them now say 'they don't follow it' any more. As in they had no idea what they voted for, and now they've done their bit at the ballot box they can carry on learning fuck all.

  30. @stephenchappell7512

I think the UK will prosper outside the unelected dictates, our contribution to the EU is the equivalent of 17 states, don't you think they will miss us! We have 57 world deals on the table PLUS the chance of CANZUK, have faith and this country will be GREAT Britain again.

Isn’t the Euro Tunnel outside the EUC direction. The Legal Agreements over its operation are surely between France and the U.K. under a legal Treaty. It would require both parties would it not to agree to any alterations to this and not the EUC.

EU commission should work together with national governments, they have the power to enact fast measures. EU commission proved it competence with migrant crisis and euro crisis. A slow commission who berates national government for taking the initiative, will k my feed anti EU sentiment. Regarding 7.8 billions pays by UK, you can compensate these by cutting funding to project like parks in the middle of nowhere, for which a bench costs few tausend of euros. Project used by some politicians from some countries to steal the money
