I don’t know how is it I Finnland, but here in Spain we’ve been throug a Pandemic, a war with its inflation, etc… the country economy seem to recover pretty damn well. The problem with Catalunya has been deflated. So I guess overall the country seems to be ok. But what do you see in the media? That the country is more or less a ruin. This happens when you have a fully privatized media ecosistem with only big companies owning them. They have their own agenda, and that is that the right/far right gets into power. They set the frame for the discussion in their own terms, so that the right or far right get promoted.

That’s a problem for a democracy. The media ecosystem has to be balanced so that the people get an overal view of reality that is not perverted. Or at least that you have options which media you wanna choose.

This is a problem in the whole western world (I don’t mind in dictatorships, where supposedly there’s no freedom of press). The media are leaning more and more to the right serving their owners and not serving the people’s rights to get truthful information and then make yourself an opinion.

In that regard, YouTube is plenty of ultraliberal channels that spread misinformation always in the same direction. I guess this is one of those…

the supposedly right wing party wanted to flood their country with the same nation destroying invaders
for supposedly the same economy helping lie that has already been proven false so many times
and we are supposed to be surprised people didnt vote for that
just another pretend opposition party that took the mask off too early

She was hyper hyped in the world for just being a woman and feminist, without discussing credentials, capabilities, goals and mistakes. Not a true politician but a fad.

This is significantly worrying considering "The Finns" are literally a nationalist-socialist party. That's the "ideological differences" they just gloss over here: a refusal to work with a literal fascist party.

  13. @Helena-ox7cr

Actually Blues never did well. They only hijacked ministers from Finn's party establishing its new party while being in parliament, not outside of it. They never got votes so they disappeared after the term never been seen nor heard again .

  14. @mikkojnen1110

    February 21, 2024 at 6:18 pm

The scandal was not about Marin dancing, it was the fact that she was partying with people who most propably used drugs that night. And she brought these "friends", so called "powder gang", to the official residence of prime minister where they behaved in an inappropriate manner, posing half naked (topless) etc.

So glad Sanna Marin is booted out..she is a pretentious corporate stooge who was put in to push the Artic railway through indigenous Sami territory ..the last indigenous people in Europe …as a former railway executive her only.objective was disenfranchisement…. democracy got rid of that Marin shallow tyrant for sure.

I think the mounting debt was a key in this years election. During Sanna Marin´s government, Finland obtained 37 billions worth of new debt. In a four year governance period, this mean´s one million euro´s per an hour of reign.

  39. @ynwicks7142

    February 21, 2024 at 6:18 pm

A majority of people did not agree with the policies of Marin's government simple as that. Finns are very egalitarian and are wary of individual politicians having too much celebrity. While she was all over the news abroad for her youth and appearance, many Finns are not as impressed by all that. We do not put our leaders on pedestals like e.g. the anglosphere sometimes tends to do with their leaders. She herself did a good job during what has been a most challenging season with COVID and the Ukraine war. I am sure Sanna will have a great career in the future.

  40. @stevelapointe180

    February 21, 2024 at 6:18 pm

I vote for Marin as the best looking MP in Finish history.

  41. @ras6070

    February 21, 2024 at 6:18 pm

One slight correction to note. With the constitutional reform of 2000 Finland changed form semi-presidential to parliamentary. Though the president still is elected by people and has some eyes on the foreign policies he has way less power prior to 2000.
