It is an easy question, the only reason the UK will stay close to the EU after Brexit is that we cannot assemble enough tugboats to tow them to Canada. 😂⚓🇬🇧🇨🇦😝

Why not mention the EU instead of the USA WTO would benefit the UK with out the interference from the EU as they have themselves have to abide to WTO rules which you have just said What is upsetting the EU is they wont have any power in the WTO

  15. @Markus-zb5zd

    February 22, 2024 at 10:59 pm

there are many problems when trading under WTO rules between the EU and UK

    1. services: many services are not subject to WTO trading, like financial services or some specific airline flightover grants

    2. safety standards, the EU can and probably will prohibit UK goods from coming into the EU if the UK safety standards are lowered, this especially applies to food

    3. lowered non-safety standards, the EU is allowed to raise special punitive import taxes if the UK tries to undercut the EU by lowering worker rights or environmental protection limits

This video is just wrong after 7:10 minutes. With No Deal the UK will have no trade deals in place with any country and the EU will have to treat the UK as a third country. That definitely does not mean the UK will have some of the same perks as a member state, the EU has one single market and one customs union which so from trading standpoint the EU is one body. The UK will have to trade with the EU under the worst trade terms the EU has. Sure this won't stop trade, but still is a hell of a barrier.

How can the UK negotiate with an organisation that still wants to shackle us by ECJ rules and that insists on retaining full access to UK waters? The UK voted to leave the EU and the only way to fully withdraw is the No Deal route. Barnier acts as if he is the referee rather than an equal partner.

So, in this video, we’re taking a look at the escalating US-Canada trade war, how it’s pushing Canada towards the EU and how the EU is responding.
