What will happen when there are 3 to 4 hundred thousand hungry freezing soldiers in Ukraine and western Russia? If and when Putin declares a general mobilization and martial law there will be general pandemonium and widespread lawlessness.

So Russian people trust Putin because he promised to keep them away from the frontline ????? Is like Jewish people trusting Hitler to protect them.

  13. @shadowmetroid18

    February 23, 2024 at 12:00 am

At this point I think the problem Russia is going to have is even if they can get enough manpower, they're going to struggle to manufacture the munitions they need.

With Russia being cut off from most advanced manufacturing around the world how are they going to be able to produce the computer hardware they need to make drones, tanks, and missile guidance systems?

  14. @danielbrooks356

    February 23, 2024 at 12:00 am

Genuine question: Can Russia even afford a general mobilization given that the Russian "war chest" of money and military equipment is rapidly shrinking, coupled with the global gas price fall (i.e fall in revenues from selling Russian gas)?

  15. @crobar1

    February 23, 2024 at 12:00 am

Another problem is every soldier is one person not working and making revenue for his country. More soldiers => Smaller work force

  16. @justinwearden9362

    February 23, 2024 at 12:00 am

Talking about the approval ratings, It's extremely hard to believe what the Russian Government is claiming. The fact that apparently 99% of voters in some Ukrainian occupied states voted to join Russia shows very clearly they are happy about lying about statistics like this..

  24. @phillipj1135

    February 23, 2024 at 12:00 am

No he could just take his fortune and retire. He'd probably have to be sneaky about it but it beats nuclear radiation poisoning your people, Possible escalation to the point of no return, and limited roi on actions tooken so far.

That would be way to easy though. He plays the game for the love of the game and that action would be admitting that he's some how wrong which he won't do.

  25. @kkkiren599

    February 23, 2024 at 12:00 am

His best option is to fester proceedings, keep Ukraine in degraded limbo and bleed Europe. The way Russia fought the Germans and earlier Spanish and French hordes arraigned against them. Stalemate is more painful than victories and defeat. He has mobilised but has not increased force levels yet. He is maintaining missile and rocket strikes with expended shelf life stock except in critical areas. He is taking out all utilities systematically. He is fighting in Ukraine and not in Russia.

  26. @arthurbridenstine225

    February 23, 2024 at 12:00 am

The Russian public's support for the war is a function of the information control by the Russian government.

  27. @Mickey5070

    February 23, 2024 at 12:00 am

Guys, hire some editor for slavic names. Yevgeny Prigozhyn, Ramzan Kadyrov.

  28. @Cola_Dulz

    February 23, 2024 at 12:00 am

Be professional. Putin does not need full mobilization because their "partial" mobilisation is not over and has no rules or quantity at least in it's public part. They can mobilize as many people as they want and as long as they want. This is russia – there is no law there.

  29. @Lord.Schnitzel

    February 23, 2024 at 12:00 am

1.7 million vatniks in ukraine? it was reported they started the invasion with 190.000 troops. where do these 1.5 million additional troops come
    from prior to mobilization?

  30. @TheGelatinousSnake

    February 23, 2024 at 12:00 am

Yup. Gonna have to do it before winter moral drop kicks in. Train all winter and try again when conditions are more favorable. Will it be enough? Probably not but better than nothing.

  31. @LimitBreakZero

    February 23, 2024 at 12:00 am

If he does, might be time to hand some Kremlin striking missiles to Ukraine.

  32. @alexiskiri9693

    February 23, 2024 at 12:00 am

I think he wants to wait till Jan. He will close the borders on the first and call the General mobilization on Jan 2.

  33. @Longder09

    February 23, 2024 at 12:00 am

and once you have 148 milion population do not sweat still have possible to use another 148 milions new sucide drones.

Everything from russian army is loosing bakhmut is false.

  35. @DarkTider

    February 23, 2024 at 12:00 am

General mobilization would be a BS move by Putin, in the sense it puts him at huge risk for little, to no, gain.
It would plummet his public support back home, erode his economy by cannibalising the workforce, and having even 2.000.000 soldiers does jack all against 1.000.000 soldiers if you don't give them any guns or food to fight with.
What, are all those Russians, without training, in winter, going to try running through enemy artillery and machine guns in order to punch the enemy in the face?
This isn't ww2, Russians are the attacker and their morale is in shambles. Those new civilians in uniforms wouldn't be defending their motherland, they would be getting massacred with no idea WHY.
