In hindsight it is pretty clear that the Russians DID do an offensive. But instead of the one big push they tried multiple smaller pushes and then went all-in with Bakhmut as all other pushes were stopped in their tracks.

with the comfort of retrospect we could conclude the "scandalous" charred, abandoned, destroyed motor units entire columns were the offensive, entirely: if literally broke down on their way, but manpower, plans, resources, morale and even the condottieri mercenary all spent

these reports are such B.S. Russia is gaining ground every day, get a grip you reporters and stop the propaganda. Nato needs to give Ukraine planes and do it now, or this war will be over soon.

Ruskies under sanction with self sufficient energy resources have more to gain by inflicting fester and degradation in Ukraine and thereby effecting economic instability in EU and the West.

what makes it worse is that these southeastern regions were already fending off the Ukrainian army long before the war, but now that Russia got involved they have actually lost territory and pretty much been dissolved in all but name

Seems that there's increasingly bigger internal conflict brewing between Wagner-group and defense ministry. Wagner's founder Yevgeny Prigozhin is accusing the russian army of not supplying them enough artillery shells, leading to huge casualties and has been sweeting up war bloggers on his side against ministry of defense, accusing Sergei Shoigu of going mad with power.

Echo Moskva has also said reported that Russian Tv-channels have been commanded to be silent on the subject and avoid mentioning Prighozin's name at all. There's also apparently "black PR-campaing" coming against Prighozin, whatever that means.

Considering Russia's financial situation, the outdated cold war equipment and the lack of proper training for their soldiers, while Ukraine has troops with real training on battle tactics and some of the best equipment that NATO can provide. I really believe Putin's efforts are just pathetic, and one day we will laugh at his failure and celebrate the victory with Ukraine.

More aid, more weapons to Ukraine. This is a War Russia must lose, and must admit to have lost. It is important for the world and for the future of Russia itself that they lose, and lose badly. Only a devastating, humiliating loss may bring needed change to Russian society.
