Amid domestic challenges and tensions with Kosovo, Serbia held snap parliamentary elections on Sunday. While the preliminary elections show a win for the incumbent government, the opposition appears to disagree, and disputes the outcome of the elections. In this video, we take a look at why Vucic called the elections, the results, and what another Vucic victory means for Serbia.

Vučić is a Dictator, I live in Serbia and it's crazy if you are not in leading party u will not have a good job. Most media is controlled by leading party…. Propaganda and lies thats what we hear every day…. If you go on a protest… There is a god chance to be beaten up be police…
@dejanstanivukovic1246
February 25, 2024 at 4:40 pm
The nonexistence of media freedom is the main reason why Vucic won this election. All channels on the national frequency work in his favor. Unfortunately, TV is the primary source of information, targeting the working class and pensioners. This platform gives him the opportunity to brainwash these people who don't really have a good answer for why they love him so much; they just do. I've seen many videos of elderly people saying they love him more than their children and grandchildren. Media outlets that don't support him don't have national frequency, and the majority of people don't know they exist. He is omnipresent in Serbia, always on TV, with billboards of his face spanning across the entire country.
For young people, it's challenging to identify viable voting options. They need time to search for answers because there's a lack of knowledge about these alternatives; all they know is that Vucic exists, which suffices for his voters. What's alarming is the absence of a single TV debate between him and someone from the opposition. Currently, massive protests persist in Belgrade since the elections. If you switch on the TV, these channels take every word from the opposition out of context, creating a narrative that promotes Vucic as the best and labels these people as evil. You'll never see an entire speech of opposition that lasts less than a two minutes; they only show a couple of seconds that work in Vucic's favor. Every time he appears on TV, reporters ask him questions that, again, favor him. Lastly, the pile of evidence indicating the stolen elections is not on TV. That's my main concern – just provide everyone with equal screen time, allow everyone to express their views, and then we can discuss fair elections. It's as simple as that. If these conditions don't change soon, we're surely witnessing the making of a tyrant, and that's not conducive to a good country to live in.

You barely mentioned the HUUUUGE scope of election theft. Entire Europe doesn't care, they support this ultra-nationalist, who is more and more repeating his rhetoric from the previous Radical Party, only because they care about Kosovo's independence. One more problem is that SNS is NOT for the EU, they only appear to be just to get EU funds, but in reality, they have put in charge of EU ascension same people who are in their roots against EU. On every opportunity this SNS party is supporting Moscow, they are imprisoning Russian opposition leaders who are being deported back, only to face gulags. Like Vladimir Karamuza. National budget is being misused, crime is on the rise and is tightly connected to the same SNS party. Support of terrorism is also on the rise, just search for the incident in Banjska monastery and research that the criminal in charge Milan Radoičić was Aleksandar Vučić's right hand and also an owner of one of the largest road construction companies in Serbia.
Serbia became a crime den under Aleksandar Vučić, thanks to EU. It will be a source of new wars and don't you forget that.
This makes me extremely disappointed in the EU. All of that democracy and rule of law means nothing to you, when your officials are so easily bribed an corrupted with SNS's dirty, bloody money.

Please wake up slaves. So called democracy and free market are bed time stories for children. All kinds of dirty games are being played during elections in Turkiye and all other countries as well. Besides, no matter whoever wins works for the oppressors of our times not for the people oppressed. If not, she, he is gone forever.
Money is issued and manipulated by those who want to control us the slaves. Armies are created by those who want to kill us when we are out of their control. We have the technology and the wisdom to ensure the safety and the prosperity of everyone on this planet without using money and any armies. This shit has to go!

As someone from Serbia and someone that never voted for Vučić and Sns all i can say is that the video is full of lies and missconceptions. First of all the main oposition to Vučić is led also by a populist party, almost whole segment about Kosovo was pure oversimplification mixed with lies. The conservative parties in Serbia are not for Russia. I was shocked that a video that lasted 7 minutes can be so inaccurate about Serbian poltics.

You obviously have no clue about anything that is happening in the Balkans, how things work, why things work, etc.
In that sense, you are no better than any other outlet which just regurgitates official information, all at face value.
There's a very good reason I unsubscribed after your "report" on that Kosovo mess.
Now I'm certain I made the correct move. You guys are just as bad as any uninterested mainstream media.

Serbia against violence is actually reserve Vucic party, in case of victory of conservative opposition like Nada za Srbiju (Hope for Serbia) or Mi – glas iz naroda (We – vote from people) somehow manage to united.
You se coalition of DSS-POKS is called Nada because Nada means Hope, so you should pronounce it, not spelling it. Anyway, they have very good policy of political neutrality, cooperation with EU on Switzerland model, returning Serbian King on the throne, etc. And yes they are telling the truth that EU is forcing independence of Kosovo (main reason why they are not for EU integration).

The worst government since the fall of Yugoslavia. Prices of everything all time high. Media control where Vucic's lap dogs talk about salary increases but they fail to talk about the inflations that come with salary increases. They bring in foreign companies and ignore domestic small size companies. They ignore agricultural needs, any governmental job can only be given to a person if they become a member of SNS which also forces these people to vote otherwise they will lose their jobs.
My salary is above average however i work as a freelancer for foreign companies but I cannot even save money for a better car and i can only dream about building a new house. I basically live from salary to salary and i can't even imagine what it's like for people at the bottom. Everything i spend my money on is to be able survive not thrive.
SNS brings foreign companies talks about unemployment rate being at an all time low, but these workers vote for them and seemingly in ignorance as if they are thankful to be able to work only because the government brought these companies to Serbia. These workers however are paid "Serbian" salaries which are still around 600-700 euros.
To all people who are not from Serbia, imagine this.
You get 700 euros..your bills are around 150 and you need at least 350 euros for your food basket on a monthly basis. Where are occasional new clothes? A car downpayment? A trip somewhere? Extra money for your kids? Tons of other stuff you may need the money for..
Around 80% live from salary to salary, scraping by.
People 25-35 married or not – most live with their parents and can't do much in terms of finances without the help of their parents.
People in Belgrade live better most have good cars and live in well stocked apartments but that's where all companies are, like 90% of foreign companies.
This government doesn't care about other cities. All people just go to Belgrade searching for a better life. The number of parked cars on the streets is insane, traffic jams, pollution, nobody solving parking spots. Serbia has 6mil people and around 1.7mil live in Belgrade. Very disproportionate number.
13 years they ruled in tyranny over this country and it's still bad. My fridge is still not stocked and i fall behind my bills at times.
