Georgia i has been for ages interesting territory for many empires if Georgia joins Ei wichi hope so it will be big advantage for both parties due to for Ei it will be strong control between Asia and Europe since it called as balcone of Europe, there has been ages where Georgia had such horrible times and now it should be done to have candidacy of EU and be where the land belongs itself. As well eu gains big Control of region. If for EU Georgia was not interesting country they wouldn’t had signed trade, in my opinion it was a test to see how it would work in long term period, it needs to be highlighted that non of the country was connected , with each other, for example Greece. Salome won’t allow anyone to change direction of west .

Georgia is a small country and any problems will have little impact on the EU, even if corruption, nepotism and the Eastern style of democracy are unacceptable to the EU. Ukraine is a much bigger problem. The cost of EU enlargement to Ukraine will be borne by Eastern European countries, therefore Ukraine's accession to the EU should be delayed as much as possible.

The EU would allow aliens from the planet Blop to join if it gave them access to minerals that it needs for EV vehicles at a price cheaper than China is getting them.

Thats why they tried to reignite the Mercasur and Australia FTAs.

As long as Russian owned party rules Georgia with an iron fist, throws political opponents in jail, insults western diplomats and helps Russia avoid sanctions, Georgia will not join EU or NATO.
If EU could show more balls and officially announce this simple fact, things would change faster here.

For decades the EU and its EEC predecessor has frustrated the attempts by Turkey to join it, citing that it's in Asia. Yet now there's a clamour for Georgia to join. If Turkey is Asian then so is Georgia.

As a Georgian i would like to say. somethings.

Our youth generation is strongly pushing the idea of us joining europe, so much so we even have protests for them,
but the #1 reason why we want to join is russia.
being a neighbour of russia sucks, we never feel relaxed knowing a powerful country has us locked in a cage and could annex our land again like they did in 2008, they keep expanding their borders and we are getting closer to being annexed even more.
russia can’t and wont let us go. putin gets very mad at the idea of us joining nato or europe.

when russians started escaping russia and they FLEW to georgia after trashing our country, we wanted to lock down our borders. putin responded with a threat that made us scared and have not closed the borders. and dont you think they arent vandalizing our land and country along with out people's lives, homes and jobs! you would think they would atleast be grateful.

Georgia's situation is sad and is unlikely it will get better as no one is or will help us. all i can say is may god bless my fellow georgians and my motherland, for the better!

The history is witness 🙌, nations built by people not by joining members or organisations. First need Georgian to change there attitudes, rather blaming Russian or dreaming to become EU members.

  30. @alameri563

Georgia supposed to built-up first EU standards, in order to become EU country.

Cyprus has the same problems with Turkey, as Georgia with Russia ))) also, Cyprus has its breakaway region, no border with any EU members, but it joined somehow to EU )))) so I do not see any problem for joining if there will be a political will ))))))))

  33. @georgemx4136

    February 26, 2024 at 10:16 am

The thumbnail makes it look like the eu is offering us to join like offering us a cookie, when its actually more like we are crying and begging and clinging onto its legs to let us join

  37. @lulenao3987

Majority of citizens might be inclined to but it's leadership is doubtful, can't trust its leaders. Its just between EU and Belarus so to say.

  38. @thedude8424

    February 26, 2024 at 10:16 am

I don't think Georgia should join because they are literally not european and also the border problems Is like Pakistan asking to be in the eu it wouldn't make sense to me

  39. @jbbaranek9901

    February 26, 2024 at 10:16 am

Joining EU would be the most unfortunate decision Georgians could make. Total loss of sovereignty and will become Brussel's pawns. But I guess it's not my business what they do.

  40. @thepoetoffall7820

    February 26, 2024 at 10:16 am

Why would a US State join the EU?

(Jk: But it did take me a second to parse out the meaning of the title)

  41. @camm8642

    February 26, 2024 at 10:16 am

Putin might be a problem tho……he seems to feels his neighbors belong to him.

  42. @DeusVultConstantinople

    February 26, 2024 at 10:16 am

I'll tell you the reason why Georgia won't be in European Union – the country isn't in Europe.

  43. @nab.7250

    February 26, 2024 at 10:16 am

    This will not end well

  44. @DZ-xy8ls

    February 26, 2024 at 10:16 am

Well no… if we try to join NATO Russia will invade us just like Ukraine

  45. @boco2837

    February 26, 2024 at 10:16 am

To be honest there are much poorer countries in EU than Georgia, so i don't think that Georgia is poorest country in Europe, because it's not, also many EU member countries didn't share land with other EU member country, but they joined anyways. Don't forget that Cyprus is occupied by Turkey, they are member of EU.

  46. @datonacvaladze4088

    February 26, 2024 at 10:16 am

I am Georgian and I am European. It is the will of the people. A. The will of the political people.

  47. @saqartvelosamudamod

    February 26, 2024 at 10:16 am

Nato is using Georgia, sending our people to Afghanistan and other wars, using our Territories, they don't care about Georgia, they don't want even us to join, they are trolling and lying, Georgia will never join nato, because nato dosen't care about Georgian people and country, now they want us to start war with russia, and end us all, Georgia want's to join, Georgia did everything to join but no no and no,they only want our land to place rockets and missiles and there military to scare russia

  48. @deepinthewoods8078

    February 26, 2024 at 10:16 am

NATO membership looks like a very bad idea and will anger Russia. EU-membership looks inevitable in a distant future, but that may still take a few decades…
