However, it might actually work out in his favour, so in this video, we explain why AUKUS could actually help Macron as he heads into the 2022 French Election.

this is all about USA selling military kit to Australia, nothing else. We don't need AUKUS as we're allied already. Australia needs a mixed fleet of D/E and nuclear. Should've got nuke subs from France and D/C from Germany

But what about France and its potential role in AUKUS going forward? The key to AUKUS political relationships is technical performance. If France wants to win its way into the partnership, it should successfully address the application of advanced technology associated with a supercavitation supersonic torpedo to improve lethality and the unmet challenge to coat the skins of the submarine with anaechoic tiles to serve as camouflage to improve stealth. The French Naval Group has been the French contractor.

Let's be radical :
– European nations send packing home all the US troops in european soil.
– European nations withdraw all at once from NATO.
– European nations form a joint armed command every country providing one Division, France providing also the nuclear weapons.
@helloturtle3749

Most European countries rely on US support, countries like Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia all rely on American military support because countries like Germany are too busy trying to blow putin rather than defend Europe from Russian aggression
@jamesmain_email6969

Couple of things missed, negative to EU so of course not mentioned, 1) a large percentage of the EU do not currently meet their Nato 2% defence spending contributions, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg Etc. If they cannot meet Nato contributions i doubt they could invest in a EU army.
2) The EU has no navy, it would have to build one and again it has no money to do so. 3) The EU is dependant on Russias Oil with some countries like Germany 100% reliant. So spending money to build an army which would not have the diesel to defend against Russia is not cost effective , Russia would simply turn off the Oil , Gas into the EU and roll in.

This commentator perfectly illustrates the delusions of Europeans who have little or no concept of the world outside of European borders and certainly doesn't understand the Pacific. In addition, he treats Macron's delusions of France as a world power seriously. France has a second rate military that cannot project power into the Pacific. The idea that sending a nuclear submarine into the South China Sea once every two decades or that 7,000 French soldiers without any strategic airlift capability are a presence in the Pacific is just plain ludicrous. Also ludicrous is the idea that you can transform a border protection force into a standing army. Again, the commentator is possessed of the EU delusion that thinking yourself a great power without investing the trillions, yes trillions, of Euros necessary to have a military capability equal to the US or China makes you won.

And to be, just a mildly honest journalist, why don't you quote the original price France quote to get the contract? And then tell everyone how that price ballooned. And how the French Government threatened to withhold sales of torpedoes, if they decided they didn't like any conflict Australia was in??? What sane Government would go ahead with that contract???
