That guy (erdogan) is just a clown. He has no clue how economic stability and prosperity should be. In the past two decades, they only invested construction fields. Their country "Turkey" has more mosques than any other Arabic country and has more shopping malls+plazas than any other European country. Moreover, he and his unfunctional government boasted about the construction projects and defined them as a success while his citizens struggled with high inflation and cost of living prices for a long time. Besides, there is an upcoming election. He's probably gonna win these elections again, which he has been victorious since 2002 (mark my words). Because whatever happens in politics or economics, a highly considerable amount of gullible citizens of that country like to obey this "Islamic" dictator.

The interest rates are still being lowered even though yesterday 1 euro hit the 20 lira mark. It is beyond my comprehension. As a native turkish I have never ever dreamed that we would see these days. Erdogan had to be sent away years ago but sadly around 50% of the population was blind to his action because he always used religion as a tool to convince ignorant people to follow him. But nowadays people are waking up and realizing the truth since now they are not able to pay bills, buy food for themselves or family or cover rent.

"Is conventional economic wisdom wrong…?" Probably, to some extent. Conventional economics depends on some assumptions that are now in doubt, starting with the assumption that people act rationally in their own economic interest. But that doesn't mean Erdogan has any idea what he's doing.

Very informative. I agree with most of it.
I think Erdogan's expensive estates are not important in Turkish people's perspective. Being humble is not a virtue in Turkish politics. Talk about Mansur Yavaş and maybe Ekrem İmamoğlu, because they are the top candidates for the next election.

I wonder why Brexit happened they don't want to do business European countries that's a possibility for Turkey's downfall regardless..
Have you also heard how bad and corrupted the London Government is sad they were all over the News because they had were having Tory Parties whilst they told everyone you can't be with your loved ones for Christmas 🌲 in 2020
They have there rule's and another for the public
Also the poorest were hit the hardest in the 11 years in office equals to 11 years of Austerity
Which means less or no tax for the rich they got richer and poverty for the poorest and working class pay their taxes..
Now 2022 is gonna be tough for everyone in the World..

The whole fiat based monetary system is a scam and the heart of this scam is interest. The true reason why Turkish Lira is falling is because by lowering the interest rate Erdogan is directly threatening the existence of USA in the long run. Therefore, USA would not allow such a move by Turkey. Yes, the universities teach students about rules but never go deep into the reasons. Why do we have inflation at the first place? If we go deep with this question, we will find an ugly truth.
Watch Mike Maloney's eye-opening "Money" documentary and hopefully you will start to scratch the other side of the picture.
Conclusion: Erdogan is completely right going against the biggest scam of today's world, the fiat currency system. But Erdogan is too weak and alone to accomplish this by himself. But if Turkey would not have a USD 500 Billion debt, it could at least try to fight.

This is a result of NOT being in debt to the IMF. TURKEY has been a target since paying off its debt in 2012. All allegations somehow become truth with zero evidence. Turkish economy has been manipulated for a very long time despite a double digit growth year on year.
