Climate Now: Is Europe doing enough to tackle climate change?
Join us live on Euronews YouTube channel on Friday 23rd April at 17.00 CET for a live discussion with leading scientists, policymakers and entrepreneurship experts.
As the Copernicus Climate Change Service publishes its annual European State of the Climate Report for policymakers in Europe, we look at the facts on what’s really happening to our planet today, and the strategies in place to reach net-zero emissions.
How is the climate changing in Europe? What are the big challenges ahead, such as sea level rise, heatwaves, drought, wildfires and extreme weather? Is the EU taking the right action to slash emissions, stimulate green business and slow the effects of global warming?
Please feel free to put your questions to the panel and join the debate using our social media channels.
Meet the expert guests:

Thank you all for the conversation.
How can I find out more about EU initiatives and investments in residential construction? How can I find out more about incentives and penalties for property developers?
Any connections/information on building materials, green factors, HVAC, energy management would be useful.

Why can't we set targets to reduce fossil fuels 50-55 by 35? Wouldn't that produce the same objective? What about carbon capturing? We need a plan that works. We got to pay for the change, & that means production & jobs. We can cut out coal & go natural gas, but oil & natural gas can be used in this transition period. We produce a lot of our building materials with oil and gas – inexpensive insulation materials.
