Beyond the Stitch by Raw Mango for F/W 26-27, London Fashion Week
Witness the reimagining of Indian luxury where the soul of the textile speaks louder than the weight of its ornament. For its historic international debut at London Fashion Week, Raw Mango presented “It’s Not About The Flower,” a collection that serves as a radical interrogation of how South Asian craft is perceived on the global stage. Founded by Sanjay Garg in 2008, the brand has long been a catalyst for cultural conversation, but this fall/winter 2026-27 showcase, presented by De Beers Group, marked a definitive shift from the expected. By centering the collection around the humble, ubiquitous garland, Garg blurred the lines between the decorator and the decorated, reimagining a symbol of South Asian togetherness as a structural exploration of the body. The collection is a direct challenge to the Western obsession with “man-hours” and excessive embroidery as the sole metrics of Indian design value. Garg’s philosophy prioritizes the intelligence of the weave over the labor of the needle, arguing that India’s sartorial identity is far more than a production hub for embellishment. In “It’s Not About The Flower,” the garments breathe; they feature light, purposeful touches that let the textile’s underlying beauty shine. Silhouettes interpret the way a garland rests on a person, with flowers constructed from non-traditional silk-like fabrics, hand-rolled and delicately placed upon a diverse material landscape of rib-knit cottons, quilted rayon, wool felt, and the brand’s signature brocades. This new aesthetic vocabulary is the result of years of research and deep-loom interventions across Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Varanasi. As influential voices from Suzy Menkes to Anoushka Shankar looked on in London, Raw Mango successfully dismantled the stereotype of “over-the-top” dressing, proving that the true future of luxury lies in the quiet power of a well-considered design.

A Garden in Dim Light by Bolano for F/W 26-27, 080 Barcelona
Savor the slow pace of style in the fall/winter 2026-2027 collection of Bolano showcased at 080 Barcelona Fashion Week! Manuel Bolano presents “Plan B,” a collection that unfolds like a garden in dim light. It is a space where time slows down and memory breathes, centered around the iconic “B” – a symbol representing the essential, the deep black that envelops the soul of the house, and the craftsmanship of the designer himself. Born from patient hands and ancient sewing rituals, the collection is a testament to creative independence, moving away from the industry’s frantic pace to defend fashion as a profound cultural and emotional expression. The silhouette of “Plan B” is a delicate dance between past and present, inhabiting the romanticism of the 19th century and the refined elegance of mid-century haute couture. Noble fabrics whisper stories through unexpected volumes, carrying a pastoral delicacy reminiscent of a misty dawn. In this unique universe, the naive and the kitsch coexist with the melancholic tenderness of the “sad clown” and theatrical gestures. Influences from cinema and music weave through the garments, with the immortal shadow of Anna Maria Mazzini guiding a narrative where dreams and memory walk hand in hand.

Imperial Passions by Benavente for F/W 26-27, 080 Barcelona
Step into the archives of romance of the fall/winter 2026-2027 collection of Benavente showcased at 080 Barcelona Fashion Week! Benavente presents his most ambitious and complex narrative to date, “Les Muses de l’Empereur.” Drawing inspiration from the legendary and often tragic love stories that steered the course of history – from Napoleon and Josephine to Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn – this collection explores the intense intersection of romance and power. Through garments that echo the urgency of wartime letters and the grandeur of royal ceremonies, Benavente transforms historical drama into a profound contemporary experience, proving that fashion is the ultimate medium for storytelling. The collection is a masterclass in balance, juxtaposing the structural rigidity of battle uniforms with the ethereal fluidity of gala gowns. In a seamless dialogue between masculine and feminine silhouettes, the runway featured expert tailoring that evokes antique armor, softened by the inclusion of luxurious silks and lightweight fabrics that breathe movement into every step. Woolen textures and intricate layering pay homage to tradition, while modern cuts ensure the pieces resonate with today’s sartorial landscape. Every look serves as a theatrical act, capturing the delicate tension between the strength required to lead an empire and the fragility of a heart in love. With “Les Muses de l’Empereur,” Benavente transcends the traditional runway to deliver a tribute to human emotion and historical memory. By fusing technique with raw passion, the collection reaffirms the brand’s vision of fashion as an art form – one where every stitch celebrates the intensity of life’s greatest stories. It is a hauntingly beautiful proposal that invites the viewer to wear history not as a costume, but as a living, breathing testament to the power of love.
