Wait are you claiming the because Ukraine controls 50% that the 50% that voted in the referendum are illegitimate I don't think that's how elections work when seating territory for your own political gain bear mind though that 100% participation was probably forced with ballots probably added in through bribery to election organizer officials at the end to make the results seem for Russia would be a better argument than they hold 50% so how could it be legitimate only an idiot thinks that way think smarter TDLR

What happens if you give men, who have no reason to fight, are forced into service, threatened, bullied, trampled upon, weapons and ammunition? Will they really want to fight the Ukrainians, whom they have no quarrell with – or the russian military who have sent them there against their will?

@hstad100
February 25, 2024 at 10:32 am
One thing I haven't seen anywhere from the MSM in their overhype of mobilization is the potential economic impact to Russia. For example, in Russia there are about 6.2 million micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in Russia, most of them being micro-firms (41%) and individual entrepreneurs (55 %). They account for approximately 20% of Russia's GDP and employ over 25 million Russians. This mobilization will gut 80 – 90 percentage of these businesses and further reduce Russia's GDP by a far greater degree vs. Sanctions from the West. But when you're looking at a Dictator like Putin he doesn't care or what I think he ain't that smart. As I mentioned before, win or lose Putin's Russia is toast!
@xanmiddents6207
February 25, 2024 at 10:32 am
I also don't think much of Russia's nuclean brinkmanship. The Ukrainians have been attacking Crimea this whole time, which they also consider technically part of Russia.
@xanmiddents6207
February 25, 2024 at 10:32 am
I don't think hundreds of thousands of highly unmotivated, poorly equipped, poorly trained, and barely led (officer core shortages) men will be much of anything other than a liability and a tragedy. We've seen problems with units like these in the initial stages of the Kharkiv offensive when DPR forces allowed the initial breakthough of Ukrainians.

Lets also be claer that these Referendums are illegitimate EVEN IF all areas were occupied AND everyone who had lived their previously were able to partispate AND if their were no threat of violence. Because the very ACT of incorporating territory taken in a war of aggression is ILLEGAL. And lastly the so called results that Russia reports are not worth the paper they are written on.

To be entirely honest the 300k troops will mean absolutely nothing to the war effort or might even be a detriment to Russia. Russia's biggest problem right now is equipment and munitions shortages and morale. These new conscripts will have the same morale (I have seen the videos of the staging areas for the mobilization and they look like third world shitholes or worse) and they will still be so woefully under-supplied. In fact they will be spreading the supplies around more people and thus making the supply problem potentially worse.

I'm not a social justice warrior and I don't see so-called racism everywhere. However, Imperial Russia into the Soviet Union into the Russian federation has always been racist AF. The Russians have always treated the minorities as crap. Even in the midst of communist fervor, there was a core of Russian imperialism.

The reason for Putin's 'Anschluss' of the occupied regions of Ukraine is perfectly simple– none of the men that are being mobilized can be sent outside of the Russian Federation, without a formal declaration of war. That he can also employ nuclear weapons in defense of the Russian Federation is of lesser importance. A vitally important aspect of Putin's goals is going back to selling stuff to the world, at large and the use of nuclear weapons may make it difficult for a return to normal economic relationships with the world.

mobilisation is more effective in defence
during WW1 belgium used mobilisation to defend their land pretty good given it’s size (even king Albert himself fought in the war)
WW2 didn’t go as well but Germany was more advanced and Belgium just didn’t want a repeat
putin should follow his mobilisation at the front line (and die) to give more morality to his troops
since a small country did good enough against a big country, a giant country should go very well against a smaller one. go on putin, fight for your “putinland” you coward!
